THE SHIRT STORY.
Barça before Ronaldinho and Messi, with Saviola 7 on the back. The young Argentine was in his second season after arriving from River Plate, scoring 13 league goals and another seven in the Champions League. Nicknamed “El Conejo”—the rabbit—he was quick, sharp and a handful around the box.
It was a difficult season for Barcelona, finishing sixth in La Liga and going out to Juventus in the Champions League quarter-finals. Still, with Saviola, Riquelme and Kluivert in the squad, there was plenty of talent about. The blue-and-red stripes without a shirt sponsor give this one that familiar early-2000s Barça look.
