THE SHIRT STORY.
Smolarek 15 on the back, from his Borussia Dortmund days. Poland’s 2006 World Cup ended in the group stage, but later that year Ebi gave the fans a much better memory: both goals in a 2–1 win over Portugal in Chorzów.
There’s a nice family connection too. His dad, Włodzimierz, had scored Poland’s winner against Portugal at the 1986 World Cup, exactly twenty years earlier. And Ebi was named after Portuguese legend Eusébio. That makes scoring twice against Portugal quite a story. Puma’s faint winged-hussar graphic across the front gives the shirt a bit more character than a plain white Poland kit.
