THE SHIRT STORY.
Ribéry 7, from the season Robben arrived and Bayern’s wing partnership started taking shape. Under Louis van Gaal, they won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, with Franck scoring in the 4–0 cup-final win over Werder Bremen.
There were some big European nights too. His deflected free-kick helped Bayern come from behind to beat Manchester United 2–1 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg. They made it all the way to Madrid, although Ribéry missed the final through suspension. The white third shirt, with grey stripes and red details, is a nice reminder of the season Bayern came close to winning everything.
