THE SHIRT STORY.
Bright orange, Nike’s Total 90 design and Van Nistelrooy on the back. This one brings back Euro 2004, when Ruud scored four goals as the Netherlands reached the semi-finals in Portugal.
His late equaliser against Germany was a proper striker’s finish, stretching to hook the ball in from a tight angle. He also scored twice against Latvia to help the Dutch through the group. With Robben, Davids and Seedorf around him, it was a team well worth watching. They eventually lost to the hosts in the semi-final, but this shirt still brings back plenty from that tournament.
